Today when my family and I came home from church, I went to let my precious dog out of her pen. (I put her in the pen when we go out, because she has been known to dig holes under the fence, and I don't want to risk her getting out when I'm not home.) She watched me coming to let her out, and got very excited as I approached the pen. When I opened the door, she rushed out to go and play with her doggy friend, Heidi. She ran about three meters away from me, then she realized that she'd forgotten something. So, she turned around and trotted back toward me me. She came right up to me, and gave the sweetest little expression, as if to say "thanks for letting me out of my pen." She then gave me hand a little nuzzle with her nose. It was as if she'd said thank-you. I was really touched, at how polite my little dog was.
