Spotty and Thugo

We have two 8 year old dogs named spotty and thuggo. They're married (according to us) and totally love each other. Whenever we feed them spotty will go up to the bowl and start licking the outside, when she is done she'll go up to thuggo and start licking him in the face. Thuggo will get up and look around and eat all the food. when thuggo's done, spotty will start scratching us to give her food. We have tried many things to stop this but the unusual behavior continues. Then we got a dachshund who became spotty's pup and instead of spotty waking up thuggo she wakes up our dachshund instead!
